VIPP WATCH

Personal project 1 Week 2017

Inspired by Vipp's design philosophy of utilitarian objects as tools for living. I decided to try and apply their philosophy to a product outside the context of a home. I chose to make a wristwatch since its one of the only tools most of us wear every day.

When receiving a Vipp watch, the first thing you are presented with are the parts that make up the watch. Along with the tool to assemble it. Which signifies that the watch is an heirloom to be maintained and cared for over a long period of time.

The watch itself has a very logical expression. Every component highlights its structural purpose. Materials are selected for their durability and finishes are honest about their production methods.
